Maestros is a webinar series developed for industry leaders to share stories and relevant content about intellectual property, patent and innovation.
In the first episode of this series, you will be immersed into the exciting world of copyright in music. Music is created every day in all forms and it is vital that creators of any form of music are legally protected by music copyright to ensure those involved are recognized and recompensed for their work. We have therefore invited an expert in the area Dr. Hayleigh Bosher, who will guide you on the basics of how copyright in music works, infringement, enforcement, as well as AI and blockchain implications.
Dr Hayleigh is the author of Copyright in the Music Industry and co-host of the podcast Whose Song is it Anyway? She is an internationally published legal academic, speaker and legal consultant specialising in intellectual property, media and entertainment law. She is a Senior Lecturer in Intellectual Property Law at Brunel University London, Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for Intellectual Property, Policy and Management, blogger for the specialist IP blog The IPKat and founder of the World IP Women (WIPW) network. She holds a PhD in Copyright Law from Bournemouth University.
