Marc Kaufman is a patent attorney based in Washington, DC. and is a Co-Founder of the Blockchain IP Counsel, an initiative of the Chamber of Digital Commerce that is focused on managing intellectual property issues in blockchain ecosystems.

Currently, Marc is introducing the Community Patent Protocol, his plan to manage patent risk in blockchain implementations, to the blockchain community.

Marc has spoken throughout the world, including at the World Trade Organization, the World Bank, the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has also been quoted in notable publications such as the New York Times, the Financial Times, Forbes, and Newsweek. Marc has been named to the IAM 350 Top Patent Strategists every year since its inception and has been named Fintech IP Lawyer of the Year in Washington, DC for 2019 and 2020 by Global Law Experts.
